Dogs

Undoubtedly the most popular domestic animal, dogs are fo the chld who wants a more interactive pet with personality. But before deciding, you need to know your child can be counted on to do simple tasks filling the water and food bowl. Dogs are wonderful, but high maintenance pets they require daily exercise, toilet training and a lot of nurturing.

Cats

Lower maintenance than their canine counterparts, the domestic feline is a moody animal, perfect fort the nurturing child who doesn’t mind being snubbed every now and then. Good household cats include, Persians, Abyssinians, Burmese, Manx, ragdolls or Somalis. Don’t discount the ramdom multiple breed street kitten that grows up to be a very good companion and pest control

Birds

Their cages can look like a rock group’s hotel room, but the feathered family brings delight and laughter to many a household. Consider the Myna who picks up voice. Birds are colourful and social, so they are perfect if your child is a little budding scientist keen on observing animal behaviour.
